From Edinburgh or Glasgow, take a route to Perth. Then take the A93 via Braemar and Ballater.

OR:- Continue towards A90 via Dundee and Forfar, turning of at Brechin signposted for Fettercairn, Edzell. Continue heading for Banchory turning off at the Aboyne signposted to the left. Aboyne is well signposted from there and you end up crossing the River Dee directly opposite the Hotel.

From Inverness: Take the A9 South for about 20 miles then take the sign to Grantown-on-Spey, then on to Aboyne, via Tomintoul, Strathdon and Tarland.
